The story of Tatarimoke
A tatarimoke is the spirit of a baby or child which inhabits the body of an owl. Tatarimoke remain near the homes of the families they once belonged to. Tatarimoke are treated with respect and usually are beloved by the families they haunt. In turn, the Tatarimoke are usually quite harmless to the their families.
In some cases, however, tatarimoke can be dangerous to people. The souls of those who were carelessly discarded by their family could retain a grudge against the living. People passing through the places where these resentful spirits haunt might hear eerie sounds, see strange phenomena like floating flames, or may stumble on a rock and hurt themselves.
